Hey everyone, I'm still alive! I sort of got caught up with life and dealing with trying to pay actual rent and finding ways to not be homeless. Plus, you know, like, mental crap like depression and anxiety and who knows what else. And I sort of turned into a lazy pothead for a while.

But hey, looks like Inktober brought me out from the abyss! I've been drawing different stuff, so this account is probably going to look a little different than it used to. For some reason, it turns out monsters and gore come out of my pen a lot easier than cute or funny things.

Also I totally rotate my hair color now and my wardrobe somehow filled up with goth/punk/metal/alternative stuff as all the normal-stable-member-of-society clothes vanished.

So I've been doing a bunch of little doodles and stuff after we learned about caricatures on the last day of my heads and hands class. I'm mostly making fun of terrible people, but drawing awesome people like this dude below is fun too.

I'm posting those on my art tumblr, which is right here, since they're totally not the kind of thing I'd clutter my dA with.

Send some suggestions! I like doing these, and they're great practice. 

I got a Cintiq for dirt cheap off of eBay, and I found the pages of my Stella comic that I thought I accidentally threw away!

I'm still getting my life together, but for now at least I can post work from school.

A lot of you probably already know that I really don’t like having to ask for financial help, let alone a second time. This past month/month-and-a-half has been extremely stressful as far as getting through school, surviving, and trying to find a place to live, and now the culminating point is whether I’ll be able to stay in the cheap apartment I finally found, end up back at home and losing all the big opportunities for my career I gained last semester, or worse, end up without a roof over my head. (That’s also a big part of why the comic update I promised never got finished, at least yet.)

Getting a job is phenomenally tough here, even just at a grocery store, and who knows, the fact that I’m transgender might be playing against me. I only need help surviving my first month here, after which I’ll be getting a financial aid refund from school that’ll cover another month of rent and let me finally get groceries so I don’t have to just be living off of rice, beans, and water – and that’s worst-case scenario where the job search is still all for naught after that long.

Any donation of any size would be indescribably appreciated, and the total amount I need isn’t much – just about $550. I’ve been planning on completing Stella’s story as a series of short tales in written form with a few illustrations, and I’ll be including a list of everyone who has helped me stay afloat as a thanks.
